- The tour lasts about two days, we will sleep in a Bedouin sleeping tent in the desert.
The group of tourists in the desert safari , set out to the Mitzpeh Ramon area, and enjoy a complete migration experience.
We will sleep in a Bedouin tent, which we set up when we arrive to the night stay, and take apart the following morning. The tent and all the equipment will be carried by the camels all along the tour.
The tour begins with a luxurious breakfast. The group members share its making, and in the background, there is Bedouin music, played by Bedouin players, on traditional musical instruments.
After having breakfast, we shall fold the tent together, load it on one of the camels, and get going.
The tour integrates camelback riding, with camel instructors. One of its objectives is to get to know the desert, its animals, plants, flowers, herbs etc.
This trip is a great chance to get to know the desert.
Along the trip on the camels, the tourists shall have breaks to rest, and have coffee and herbal tea, from the desert herbs.
After the end of the day journey, we shall arrive at a point which is suitable to make the sleeping tent, considering the climate of that day. The climate is a significant factor in the decision about the location of the sleeping tent.
The setting up of the tent is done like the folding. All tourists take the equipment off the camels and set up the tent together when evening falls.
After setting the tent up, we go collecting twigs, to light a fire to make coffee and tea, and later on, to cook an authentic Bedouin dinner.
The tourists will divide into a few groups to make the dinner. One group shall make pita bread on the Saj, another group shall make the "Liba" and the "Marisat Afig". When preparing dinner, there is Bedouin music, played by Bedouin players, on traditional musical instruments.
When dinner is ready, everyone gathers around the large fire, to enjoy Bedouin delicacies, as best of the Bedouin tradition, made by the group members.
After dinner, around the fire, we hear stories of heritage and migration, to enable us a better understanding of what we saw and experienced throughout the day. Aside the stories, we learn about the dances of the Bedouin wedding, the "Dahiya", and learn the dance steps.
A desert safari is a powerful experience, hard to depict in words.
The next morning, we begin with having coffee and tea and getting ready to have breakfast together. After breakfast, we empty the tent, according to a set order, fold it and load all the equipment and the food on the camels.
The camels set out to go on a new day, during which we shall stop for breaks, making coffee and tea, and have a light meal.
Throughout the trip, we shall have observations with explanations about the unique aspects of the area.
When evening falls we reach the place where we began our journey. We unload the camels, in a set order, just like the Bedouin migrates do it.
We part with a great smile and unforgettable experience.
